In order to practice according to our training method, you have to fulfill some basic prerequisites – above all, you have to learn a natural position.
The natural position lies in a relaxed stance where you hang from the sky at the top of your head, while your body weight should fall below your feet. You should blend in with the gravitational environment, with the feeling of floating on the basis of the Archimedes‘ law applied to the terrestrial environment.
In your natural position it is necessary to acquire three main soles of the feet – open stance, parallel stance and closed stance. There are more kinds of stances in the natural position, but those three mentioned are the most important:
- Open stance – closes the hip movement at the back (in karate named as hachiji dachi).
- Parallel stance – allows movement in the hips and it is a transition position between closed and open stands (in karate named as heiko dachi)
- Closed stance – closes the hip movement in front (in karate named as uchi hachiji dachi)
The torso rotation in the hips is possible in parallel stance and in every type of natural position and every of three stances on the foot of standing leg.
With three feet positions (open, parallel and closed), you can master basic foot movements, all types of walking (male and female).
