Problems of Style

Each phenomenon and everything can take many different forms. Every phenomenon, everything, can have many different names within a single language, let alone in different languages. Information can be recorded and understood in many different ways. We can give more information about each form in different ways.

Each form can have many functions. Many functions have the same essence, the same principle. In addition, the form, name, function and substance may be both correct and incorrect.

Style creates strength. Therefore it is advisable to study and practice one style, not all styles. Without style, kitsch, imitation and waste arise, which is without content and energy and which is unnatural, unhealthy and toxic. Therefore, it is important to practice and study style. After realizing the essence of one style, the essence of all styles can be understood.

To speak a true and correct style implies the realization of the universal essence of all styles. However, as we very good know from fashion, everything has already been there, we just forget it or adapt it to another time.

The universal nature of everything is integral and the only one. However, there may be different and completely contradictory styles. Beginners should follow just one style, one method, one way of training, and one exercise. However, they must be careful not to consider it the best and do not condemn, criticize or shame other styles they do not understand, as the dilettante does.

The classic exercise process has three levels. The first level is acceptance of style (form), while its quality does not matter much because the initiative in the exercise process must rest on the pupil’s side, not the teacher.

The second level consists in verifying the style. This is only possible with an understanding of its function (content). The third level consists in transcendence of the style and in understanding of its nature (essence).

Exit from the trap of ignorance and inexperience is narrow. Therefore, beginners must be conditionally loyal to the teacher until they understand the essence. In the beginning they must remain somewhat unconscious and blind. Otherwise, they will not get any material to further study and exercise.
